CARMAN KIDS

We believe that worship is a whole body experience. Our hope is that children will discover and explore faith practices to build their relationship with God and with their faith community. Wonder and questioning are encouraged. Family are welcome to explore with us at any time.
We share worship as a full congregation at the beginning and end of each Sunday service and during Intergenerational services. There is a time for Word for All Ages, when young people are invited to come forward for stories and song.
Each Sunday the children are invited to move to the Children’s Worship Room where the Bible lesson is retold with the opportunity to move around and sing and to reinterpret the ideas in a creative way.
Once a month (usually the first Sunday) we share Communion. It is important that our whole community of faith share this together. Angie McDermid, one of the leaders, shares a drum circle with the kids on these Sundays in our bright nursery, next to the sanctuary, so we can return easily to the main body of the church.
Our curriculum follows the Common Lectionary to encourage family discussion in the home and stresses the United Church of Canada principles of inclusive language, acceptance of each individual and Faithful Footsteps guide for vulnerable persons.
